Sceletium Tortuosum, traditionally known as Kanna or Kougoed, is a succulent plant native to the Western Cape of South Africa. For centuries, indigenous communities have valued it for its calming and mood-enhancing properties. Traditionally, it was used to ease tension, uplift the spirit, sharpen focus during long journeys, and even steady hunters’ aim under pressure.
In today’s fast-paced world, Sceletium is gaining international recognition as an aid to support emotional well-being, manage anxiety and as a natural anti-depressant. Many use it to promote relaxation, help manage stress, and maintain a positive outlook. Some also find it supports focus, cognitive performance, and restful sleep.
Studies have highlighted its potential to reduce oxidative stress and its mild but systemic anti-inflammatory effects, which may contribute to overall wellness. While more studies are ongoing, thus far the scientific findings confirm that Sceletium could play a role in supporting resilience in both body and mind.
We offer this traditional botanical in a convenient, high-quality capsule form. Sustainably sourced and carefully prepared, the selected extract preserves the plant’s natural benefits to bring you balance, clarity, and calmness.
Contra-indications: Not to be used in conjunction with prescription SSRI’s like Prosac, Lorien, Cipramil, Cipralex, Soloft and others as it may lead to serotonin syndrome.
